New system setup with PRI and DID extensions.
I have setup each extension with a target line and 2 call appearances - Ring only
Works fine, except the customer does not want the second call ringing thru. Is there anyway to make the second call flash only and not ring while off hook and on another call?

Try activating DND on Busy for that set. Not sure that will work but its worth a shot. Also you can't have a forward on busy destination set.

Nice try, guess again! - DND on busy, does not work - I tried that already - I even reduced the the call apperances to 1 and it still rang thru - I'm going to the site tomorrow to mess with it some more - I know there is a work around for this, I just can't remember what it is. Let you know if I find the answer.\\

I'm not sure are these lines ring only or do they appear on the phones for R/O should not use line appearances and would ring in on the intercom if you have 2 I/C on the set the second call would ring softer. I did not think you had the option to have eappearances with ring only so that may be the issue. I have been wrong before.

OK.. Here's the answer..

Program the Target Line to be answered by the AA after 12 rings.

At the set, program the target line, A/R or RO with at least 2 appearances (if RO, you need two intercom keys). Also program DND on Busy. Voila, done. Call will flash and then follow the CFNA of the set after the programmed rings.

Reasoning why it works: The second call coming in shows the set busy (and thus ALL target line appearances) and will failover to the Prime Set of the Target Line which in most cases people program as the Set DN. In this case, the Target Line is NOT busy and will ring all appearances until either the AA picks up (12 rings) or the CFNA of a set is reached to allow it forwarding to a voice mailbox.
