Hello All,

I have an Avaya branded BCM 450 R6 which I purchased used. It is having some issues.

It appears to go almost completely through the boot sequence but as the green light is flashing just before it is fully online, the unit powers down and power LED goes yellow and the status LED goes red. And then the unit goes in a power cycle mode where it seems to keep trying to boot up but only very briefly.

I see in the manual where it gives this info:

Solid yellow Solid red Power spike shutdown completed (temperature and Rail power ok).

Anyone know exactly what this means? Or have a fix for it?

I tried a new multi image drive and I was able to get in with putty and it went through everything correctly and once it rebooted it did the above.

I tried the whole tray in another BCM 450 and the problem followed. I tried another bf tray in this chassis and everything worked fine.

Try the other power supply.

Then the problem must be the base function tray..replace it and it it works then the bit us the problem.

Yes. My question was more along the lines of does anyone know any "dumb" fixes that may get it working. Various power cycling or something else. Not really sure.

I had a BCM 50 in a power cycle mode once.. I think someone tried a reset with the pin and unplugged it while I was in the middle of it. I ended up getting that BCM 50 working without needing to send it off for repair.

I'll probably send the tray off for repair.

Boy did I read that wrong, sorry.

I agree probably bad caps on the BFT.
