Customer has a BCM450 Rls5 and desire to fallback to SIP trunks if their PRI fails. I know you can configure fallback if the PRI is busy but not sure how to do this if the PRI goes down. Has anyone done this before?

Thanks

my advice is enabling the "overflow" schedule on the dialing plan on BCM EM.

i recently set up a customer with copper fallback to a PRI.

what i did was set up the outbound routes so he dials 8 to use the pri and 9 to use the copper lines.

We then trained all the users to just dial 8 to make an outbound call and if the PRI goes down he will then instruct his employees to dial 9 to use the analog trunks

I thought that but didn't know if anyone had an idea of how to make it automatic.

It should work like this I believe. Been meaning to build this out in the lab but haven't gotten around to it.

Put the system in permanent night routing service.
In destination codes, night put the PRI as 1 and the SIP as 2. Set it to overflow.

It has been awhile but that is the basic idea. I have made it work in the past to failover with PRI to other kinds of trunks but haven't tried SIP.
