BCM 450 serial port 1

Does anyone know if you can use 450 serial like the 200/400 so when the system is on powerup you get infomation and can it be used to connect in any way? all i seem to get is rubbish out so i assume i using the wrong settings?

Yes you can see the system shutting down and on power up.
Use hyperterminal.
settings:
bit Speed setting 115000,8,none,1,hardware
