Hi guys;

I've RTFM'd and am unclear as to why I have received 2 hard drives for this install. The system is existing and I'm installing a RAID kit, but I've received 2 hard drives.
1 is Multi Image Hard Drive
1 is Blank Hard Drive
I've been looking around and am guessing that I'm supposed to pull the "file" for the release 5 off of the Multi Image drive... However, I have no idea how to do that. I've been looking at this "Acronis" program but cannot get the program to see the hard drive.
Was looking on the Avaya website but was unable to locate the rls. 5 image from there (although I do find that website cumbersome).

Can I just install the blank hard drive?

Sorry if this seems like a basic question but I've never installed one of these kits before and to reiterate I have RTFM'd!

If all you're doing is adding RAID to an existing system, you don't need the multi image drive, so save it for a spare. If that's a kit you ordered, you should have received a license (either paper or electronic). All you have to do is generate the new license file in KRS (assuming that you have access to KRS), upload it to the BCM and pop in the new blank drive. It should start copying right away. Make sure that you also patch the system current before you do anything.

If you're an end user (as opposed to a vendor), you might have to get someone to generate the license file for you.

I have read (in the docs) just put in the blank drive, in another post (on this forum) someone said you have to image the drive first? what say you?

Agree with telcodog

Patch up system ,
Insert blank drive in slot 2 of hard drive bay
Apply new licence when system is accessible
Enable disc mirroring
Note:This is not available until you apply the licence

The hard drive LEDs will flicker
When complete the LEDs will be green
