BCM 450 R1 Cannot backup 1

Have release 1 BCM 450 that cannot backup. It goes through all of the backup steps and says completed but there is no data there. I have tried to backup to pc and USB flash and get the same result. I have all patches loaded and new hard drive.
I have done numerous backups on other units and have never had a problem. Has anyone heard of this problem before? is it fixable?
 
Do a reboot first.

I have had this issue before and a reboot usually cures it
 
This one must be stubborn, I rebooted this morning and still get the same thing. I have heard that the power supply can cause some pretty weird stuff, do you think it is going bad?
 
I have found doing a warm restart is not the same as shutting down, pulling the plug and then powering it back up (the latter seems to work better for me when trying to get rid of "bugs"... maybe it's just more comforting).
Maybe that's what you did... but just a suggestion.
 
You could try and install the latest system patch if the system is out of date as this will cause the BCM450 to reboot and then try the backup again.

I will try shutting it down then unplugging tomorrow,Thank you for the suggestion.
What is the latest patch number for release 1? This unit has a lot of patches installed already but I don't know for sure if the latest one is there. If you could let me know that it would be greatly appreciated.

The latest I found on the Avaya site was:
BCM450.R100.SU.System-016 - oct 11/2011
BCM450.R100.SU.Desktop-008 - dec 6/2011
BCM450.R100.UTPS-130 - aug 13/2012
