I have a customer who runs a BCM450 rel. 6. He use to makes backup of his system flawlessly until he recently change his server. According to him, on his Element manager, He only has change the path of the server. Since that, he can't no longer makes any backup and he get an error message: server issue waring - close to inactivity. I have no clue why this is happening just by chaning a path. I can no longer make backups.

Can you backup to the USB stick in the faceplate?

I have had the error where the Element manager just immediately closes a window "Closed due to inactivity".
Seems to happen when an invalid character is being returned from the BCM back to the user interface of the element manager.

Was never able to fix that problem. Every time going into that one particular screen it would cause the element manager to immediately close the connection like that. Upgrading to newer SU patches, and newer versions of Element manager never fixed the glitch but it wasn't in a screen we ever needed to change so there was no practical impact in that case.

We eventually resolved it by formatting the hard drive and reloading the system. (For another reason, not specifically to fix this issue)

When trying to figure out how to fix it I read suggestions to make sure the Element Manager was up to date and to uninstall all versions of Java and reinstall Java again or try it from another workstation to confirm the java install is not corrupt. If those simple tests did not help then it was something corrupt in the configuration and it needs to be reset. In our case the unit worked but we could not go back in to change the settings in that particular screen which I mentioned wasn't really a problem as the settings never needed to be touched.

You may need to reset that part of the configuration.
Refer to this thread for more info on fixing this glitch through a reset:

Thanks guys...This seems to be my last solution... I will c if there's anything else I can troubleshoot.

Actually Crowtalks, As soon as I click backup, the error message appear, so I'm don't even have the chance to pick a choice of backup. and then EM closes from inactivity. I should try to restore...

OK...got it...I didn't fully understand your post, though your problem and Queball's reply will be good to keep for future reference
