BCM 400 won't recognize doorphone

I am trying to connect and program 2 doorphones from my customer's existing KSU to the new BCM 400 we are installing. I am following the BST Doorphone Install guide and set everything up as a M7324 set but as soon as I connect it to system, the programming changes to show that it is a 7208. It also does not appear on Doorphone List.

Is there something that I'm missing?

I can Voice Call the doorphone and it works. Is there a new process to program the unit or is it FEATURE 9*4? When I try FEATURE 9*4, I get the message 'Inactive Feature'.

was the exisiting system a Norstar?

Yes, it was an old 8x24 ksu with expansion modules.

That will be your problem. I am pretty sure you can not use the Norstar door phones on the BCM for some reason. I will double check and come back and confirm this. Someone might tell you before I get back to you.

I'm not sure exactly when the doorphones that are currently in use on the 8x24 KSU were installed but they are at least 2 years old. Their model number is NT8B79FA and they look exactly like the picture of the BST doorphone from the install guide.

Yeah I know the 2 door phones look the same.But I have had the exactly the same problem and I think the outcome was Norstar door phones did not work on the BCM.I will double check but I am pretty sure that was the problem.Let me know if you get anywhere.

If you are talking about the heading of Doorphone and sub heading of Doorphone list, then yes I do know about them and like I stated in my first post, they do not show up there after they are connected to the system. I also tried to refresh the systsem and reboot the system to no avail.

I finally found a Nortel part number on the web for a doorphone with a description as being a BST doorphone. I just picked it up from my supplier and that did the trick. There apparently is a difference between the BST doorphone and the older Norstar doorphones.
