Hello.

Some questions about BCM 400 voicemail:

1.) How easy/flexible is the auto attendent?
*Is it easy to setup?
*Lots of options for sub-menus?
*Can recordings be changes remotely?
*Any way to pre-record messages and insert as needed (for example, if closed due to weather conditions)?

2.) How many hours of capacity are available in a typical installation?
*Can this capaity be increased?
*Can you limit capacity on a per mailbox level?

3.) Can you live record a call direct to voicemail?
*Is it possible to program a phone button to do this as a single touch feature?

Appreciate all help.

Thanks.

1. Fairly flexible. Only 4 separate greeting tables until release 4.0, then there will be 100. Intuitive to set up, 8 CCR trees, recordings can be changed remotely either via uploading WAV files or having the BCM call an off premise phone number. There are 100 recordable greetings. You can build a "we're closed because of crappy weather" greeting table, then change the auto attendant to play that if needed. Holiday tables are also available. Non recurring holidays can be programmed up to one year in advance.

2. 200 hours of storage on the 200/400/1000. 100 hours on a 50. Can't be increased. Capacity can be limited via class of service on the mailboxes. 16 different COS options.
3. Yes. It makes an announcement saying the call is being recorded, so you can't sneak it in. But it keeps you legal, at least in the US. And yes, you can program a button with the call record feature for "one touch" recording. The call recording will be dropped in the mailbox associated with the phone.
