Greetings all,

It appears that the VM has been going down quite a bit lately, which is not how it used to be. I have a feeling there is a config of something that is causing the issue. I have techs who manage the system but I fear they are unsure of what the issue is.

We added an addtional 32 lines recently but it was happening before the add was done.

What can I do to resolve this?

Chect the BASE Function Tray (BFT)
If it has green capacitors and they are bubbled up then this is your problem.

Replace the tray
also check the leds on the tray.
if they are all flashing when the voicemail is down more than likley its a BFT.

This has been an ongoing problem with original ver 3.0 to 3.5 systems.

The hard drive may also be starting to go

Hey snowman50,

Thanks, but can you tell me where that is?

Thanks for your help!

The bft is under the faceplate w/ the LEDs. Do all the LEDs flash when the vmail is down? If the BFT is ok, is the system current w/ s/w patches?

You need to unplug BCM, and remove the 2 screws on black handles. Push handles down and the BFT will slide out. You will not need to unplug the ribbon cable, because you only need it out about 2-3 inches. Follow snow's post.
