I'm simply trying to restrict a digital phone from making any outgoing calls except for 911. I'm having problems applying the filter that I have set up. Any thoughts? Thx.

In the phones programing it self in restrictions set restrictions change the i think normal one to the one you bilt.

I set up filter 10 and added the strings of:

91AAA

9AAA

I then went to COS and under 10, i set up a password and under "set restriction filter" , I entered the filter of 10, that I created.

Then, I went to active sets/restrictions/set restrictions and entered 10 in all schedules. However I am still able to dial anywhere from that extension.

Please bear with me.....this is all pretty new to me. Thx.

I actually just found it in an earlier post. Does this phone still have 911 capabilities?

Also, what is the password for on the filter restriction? Do I even need it if I want the phone restricted all the time? Thx.

You can just apply the filter to the set and avoid using COS.

Now they would like it so the extension is not able to receive any calls from the outside, as well. Yet still be able to receive intercom calls. Is that setting in Filters as well? Thx.

if you want the phone to not be able to receive calls then take off any line appearances also a COS pswd is used to over ride a restricted phone...

Don't give it a DID number.

I think Restriction 1 is the default to restrict everything except 911

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

There are already tables built that you can use.
