I am unable to find the file BCM for ip music on hold.

IP music came out in 3.5 if I remember correctly. it was definitely available in 3.7.

The files need to be in .wav format. Specifics from the docs are below.

The audio files loaded onto Business Communications Manager are loaded into the same disk
space that is used for CallPilot messages. Therefore, every minute of audio file loaded onto the
Business Communications Manager reduces the amount of message storage space available to
CallPilot by one minute. In order to ensure the proper operation of both BcmAmp and CallPilot,
the following restrictions are applied to uploading audio files.
• The maximum size of any single sound file you load onto Business Communications Manager
is 5 MB.
• The maximum amount of disk space allowed for BcmAmp audio files is 1 GB.
• If there is less than 1 GB of free disk space on Business Communications Manager, BcmAmp
Administration application will no longer allow you to upload audio files. This ensures there is
disk space left available for CallPilot.
Deleting music from Business Communications Manager
If you no longer want to use a sound file, you can delete the file from Business Communications
Manager.
1 Start the BcmAmp Administration application.
2 Click the File Manager heading.
A list of audio files already on the Business Communications Manager appears.
3 Click the Remove link beside the sound file you want to delete.
A confirmation dialog box appears.
4 Click the OK button.
The file is permanently removed from the Business Communications Manager.
5 Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each file you want to remove.
Note: To minimize the time required to upload audio files, record the audio files as a
single channel (mono) using 8-bit samples at a rate of 8 kHz.

A few days ago, I was asked if I could sort out a problem on a Mitel 3300 system as the customer gave a colleague of mine a music file that needed to be uploaded onto the Music on hold area.

What I did was to download a music converter tool and I downloaded a useful tool called GoldWave. It's free to download off the net at..

I installed the current version 5.70 which allowed me to customise the original into the specs as listed on the previous thread.

In my case the original *.wav file was 4 megs and set to stereo etc. All I did was to keep the original file as it was and save it as e.g.
u-Law 8000 Hz 64 kbps mono.wav. The file size reduced to only 300k. I played it again and the quality seemed fine to me.

I then uploaded it OK onto my test BCM 50 system to test it.

All the best
