We have a new BCM400 in a medical facility. At night, the receptionist of the different departments forward their phones to answering services. Calls in "night" mode successfully forward but the ANI sent to the ansering service is that of the original calling party and the calling party is also incurring the toll charges for LD calls that were forwarded.
This happens using Forwarding or Line Redirect and OLI for all the sets is turned on.
The other thing that happens is when the calling party doesn't use the same LD provider as the PRI, they get an error message from the LD company saying you don't subscribe to XYZ LD.
Why is the BCM retransmitting the calling number on the outbound call? Does anyone have a workaround for this?

Thats the way it's designed..

There may be a way around this.. What software level do they have? If 4.0 (this software level has many CCR Trees and tables), use the AA... But set it up like this..

-Give them a real "night" button.
-Setup their respective lines to use a dedicated AA Table
-Setup that table to use a greeting that hasn't been recorded and to use a dedicated CCR Tree
-Setup the CCR Tree as Home/Transfer
-In the dial out enter the number where they want it to forward

In order to avoid your issue, the system needs to answer the call then transfer it back out. By having the AA answer and then the CCR transferring, you have met your obligation.

Nortel will be no help to you as the forward option is working the way it was designed. Trust me, we have tangoed with Nortel regarding this same situation but for another application.

Is the carrier using VoIP & a Soft Switch to carry your PRI? I ask because it seems that for what ever reason if the carrier is using VoIP then they tell me they can not change the numbers from my system or just let any numbers go through. Whereas if it is a PRI circuit to a DMS, AT&T, or something like that they can strip the numbers comming from my switch and replace them with my main billing numer. This way any forwarded call will go through and will be billed to me because it came from my Trunk Group. But like DBrewsky said the system is doing what it is suppose to. Looks like another hickup in the VoIP world that needs to be worked on.
