I have a BCM 400 whose Element Manager password has been changed and nobody knows what it is. Is there a way to recover or reset that password? If a system default and re-key is required, what is the procedure to default a BCM 400?

You can always bit tool the BCM 4.0 HDD however this is serious overkill; as you'd need to reconfigure or restore from backup (assuming you know the logon details from the backed up BCM).

Log a case with Avaya. There is a password reset application that you can download or they will send you....plus an appropriate password for the tool. Failing this, they can remotely access the BCM, logon with nnsupport account and using password of the day (available for Avaya only, they will not hand it out) and reset the password, providing the challenge key (normally "trust no one") has not changed. If it has changed, even they cannot resolve, and you'd need to bit tool the bcm and start again.

How do you default a system? Is that an option?
