Anyone know what information is kept on the MSC, I know the ID is there but how much if any programming is there. We have one that we are looking to move from one system to another system and I was just wanting to know what affect it will have. I have all the keycode information to re-enter once the change is complete.

All the programing relating to your telephony section is held on the MSC card. The system ID can not be moved you need to do a keycode regenration to move keycodes from one MSC card to another. This need to be done on the KRS on the Nortel website.

We will be taking the MSC card and moving it to a new system. So I should be able to use the same keycodes correct?

Yes , the keycodes will follow the msc. What MrMarshall is
saying is that you need to regenerate keycodes if your replace one defective msc with a new one.

That's what I was hoping. I have one more question (for now), this will be changed out after hours.
Can I go ahead and do anything such as pre configuring, load any patches, ect. to the new system or should I wait until I change the card before I do anything? Thanks for all the help so far.

either way will work as long as you do a backup to the Harddrive first. If the new system is where your going to put the old MSC card, then make the changes and do a backup and when you change the MSC the system will restore the MSC data from the hard drive for the Telephony and then you can add the Keycodes backin.
