Greetings,

I have a BCM 400 with all lights flashing. Telephony service is available. No voicemail. I am familiar with the Base Function Tray issue with the capacitors. We changed out the BFT last year due to the known issue. Suddenly, we have the very same issue. No access to either lan port. We replaced the BFT and the MSC card again. Still no access to the lan ports but we have telephony nor the voicemail. Anyone have a similar experience?

sounds like they sent you another bum BFT. Have you checked the caps?

What color are the caps? Green is bad. Does the MSC have the barnacle? Looks like a green wire on board. Can you get into the system via the serial port?

Howdy,

I have suspected the bum replacement BFT. The capacitors are blue. As was the previous BFT. The original MSC did not have the barnicle. I replaced that with a known good unit. I will have my tech test the serial port. I believe he has not tried that yet. I believe he can renitialize the system there without losing programming?

I agree with Dewey. If the BFT has been replaced then hard drive is definitely a possiblity. Try plugging a monitor in and rebooting and see what you get.

What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
