Just wondering if the IP address for the H.323 gateway is the same as the IP for the web-service??

I am trying to set up IP trunks between this BCM 400 and an 8700 Avaya switch.

My understanding was H323 Nortel was proprietary? I didn't know it could work with Avaya. On the BCM side the BCM IP is the H323 Gateway IP.

Thanks for the quick response!

I guess that is a question I will have to answer first then. Are they compatible?

I thought I saw a thread on here where someone said they did it.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks ace, so in theory it should work?

Let's see if anyone has seen it work.

So do I need any "key codes" for it to work? I am very new to Nortel BCM...

I guess I need to see if i have the resources available on my Nortel PBX too!

VoIP trunks require keycodes. Plus, a reboot to activate.

Are they the ones labeled IP Client? I have IP Client 1, 4 and 8.

No, IP Client is for IP sets. You need VoIP Trunks/Gateways.

After applying the keycode for Voip gateway trunks, if you can't reboot the bcm(because customer wants it done after hours...) restart the "feps" service in "service manager" and your Voip Trunks should populates.

Does the Avaya HAVE to use Qsig? Or just a regular H.323 trunk will work?
