I can ping both LAN1 and LAN2.
I cannot connect to the web browser using IE 8 and Java 1.5 on an old XP laptop.

I know only the supervisor password and can login via the terminal but without knowing the ee_admin password I cannot do any programming.
I can see that I am on Release 3.0.1

I need to change a VM password. Is there anyone that can help me with that.
I tried F983 but it says "inactive feature"

I do not have Element Manager. Do I need 3.0?

Thanks,
Mike

There is a difference between not connecting and not knowing password.

If you cannot connect with the browser "Page not found" then there is an issue especially if you can ping it.
If you can connect but cannot pass the login portion due to no password then you are out of luck as it is indeed an older BCM 3.X (Windows NT).
F983 does not work on that release.

Default is
Lan 1 = 10.10.10.1
Lan 2 = 10.10.11.1

Is this what you are pinging on both?

Element Manager is for BCM 400 4.0 and all BCM50/450's

Could be Hard Drive issues.

LAN 1 is 192.168.7.253
LAN 2 is still default at 10.10.11.1

Responds to pings but not no http response

Is there a story as to why it's no longer working? updrading? power fail?
Live system or Lab rat?
Are you entering as either or 10.10.11.1:6800 or without the :6800?
Using subnet 255.255.255.0 ?
Using a cross-over cable?

Even on a new laptop or java or another browser you should at least see something, try that and if so then issue with XP machine.

Possible hardware issue:
-Patch cable
-NIC card
-Hard Drive
-Base Function Tray <------Green capacitors were the bad BFT's and replaced with BFT's that had blue caps, see if they are bulging at the top
-Power Supply

Near outta ammo!

The latest I have is that Mike was able to log in via the serial port OK. This means that the login is good for the older Windows NT release of 3.0. I'm guessing that the hard disk is failing with some of the services disabled, but I would suggest cleaning out the BCM and reconnecting everything as I've been lucky in getting a few systems up and running again in the past.

Is that the only way the web gui comes up? Do you need to specify :6800?
