I have a BCM 400 4.0 with a FEM connected to a Trunk Module with 2 DID cards. We have had complaints of echo and a loud buzz on DID calls before this hardware was installed and I am still having complaints. I recently had a vendor meet set up with AT&T and they decided thet needed to redesign the DIDs. Still having the same problems, now they say that the DID trunks need to set at 900 ohms. Is this something that is programmable on the BCM 400 and if so "WHERE". I have looked all over the Element Manager and couldn't find anything. Your help would be greatly appreciated......

That should be under the settins for the individual lines. Not sure which line numbers you used, but you should be able to go into telephony resources then click on your physical line and the impedance setting should be there.

I don't have one to look at anymore, but this is what I remember.

Analog DID's you can test by using your test set by going right on the pins at the dmark and dial the 3 or 4 digits of the target line and it should ring the phone, if it works ok on all the lines then it's the providers issue.

Thanks Cook1082. I have done that exact test on all 5 DIDs and they work fine..no echo, no hum. The LEC is asking us to change the line impedance, which it doesn’t appear that we can do. It looks like you can only change the impedance settings on Loop Start Analog lines, option is not offered when Line Type is set to DID.

Have you tried with an ADID card? I know they are manufacture discountinued but if you can still get one it would worth the try.

We did originally start with an ADID8 but couldn't get it to work at all, that's why we reverted to using a FEM module and trunk module....Thanks for the input

Have you suggest them to go with a PRI or maybe partial PRI?
