BCM400. The system stopped responding. The technician came and install new hard drive. All mailboxes, greetings, configuration are gone. He did not know how to restore them and offered me configuring 200 mailboxes from scratch. I connected old HDD to my laptop and I can see 6 partitions WINNT, MAINTOS, DATA, LOGS, NNACTIVE, NNINACTIVE. I guess there should be the way to copy some files to new HDD in order to restore the settings.
Please, help!

you must regenerate the keycodes first

anytime i have done this i always have had to key in the call pilot configuration

unless you made any backups to the bcm

then you can restore. ALWAYS REQUEST BACKUPS BE DONE

Thanks a lot for the reply.
The only backup we have is 3 years old one...
As i understood the tech already put keycodes.
The call pilot is running well but it contains only 2 general mailboxes. I only need to restore the old configuration , users mailboxes settings, company greetings. We can lose safed messages.
I would appreciate any help or link on to how to do.
Also from my understanding as IT tech if I can see all partitions from old HDD the the problem was that Windows NT was not able to boot , not HDD failure itself. Is it possible to try to fix boot sector or something else on the old HDD and put it back?
Thank you very much for your help.
I can imagine 50 users coming tomorrow to the office....

The time you are going to waste trying to do this is not worth it. Start building your mailboxes & re-recording your auto attendant. Initialize the mailboxes & send out a group E-mail to let every-body know what their password is. This should not take more than a couple of hours.

Ok I FIX IT!!!

Here is what was done:
As i was able to see all partitions on the old HDD, I run "chkdsk" on all of them. It found a problem on WINNT partition and fixed it.
Then I installed old HDD into BCM , power up and ....it did not work.
gmmmmmm
I connected new HDD to PC and took the image from WINNT and MAINTOS partitions. Then I deployed those images on WINNT and MAINTOS partitions on old HDD.
I installed old HDD into BCM, power up and....it is working.
I got all 200 mailboxes back in call pilot and users greeting is there as it was before, all main lines settings are there as well.
The time I spent was lees then 2 hours.
Even if I spent whole day it is still worth that!!!
I spent a lot of time googling the internet and that was useless......

backup is done. Considering the upgrade to Linux based V4,0.
Thanks everybody fro the assistance.
