Hello,

I have a client that has a BCM400 PBX with a legacy PRI through AT&T. AT&T is talking about switching them to BVOIP or IP/FLEX and they are wondering what CODEC the BCM uses. His E-mail is below.

Our engineering has a question regarding the IP Toll Free implementation.

Do you know what CODEC your phone equipment uses? It is probably G.711 or G.729 or G.729b.

Please advise as I need to this for IP Toll Free design.

I don't understand why they may need this information. We are likely just going to keep the legacy PRI so if we do does CODEC even come into play?

Thank you,

Matt
