I have a customer with a BCM 400 ver.3.7 and they answer the phone rather quickly so they don't get their CLID. Is there a way I can suppress the first ring?

if only one set rings on incoming calls then you can remove the ringing and set up the drt to 2 rings and have it go to the set

other way it to remove all ringing from sets and have auto attendant answer after 2 rings

Thank You fireeater. I did try this the only issue is this is a 911 dispatch center all phones ring all the time and no voicemail/autoattendant. But again thank You.

Hello Change out analog trunks for a pri and caller id will show up immediately.

Thank You bcmfiftyfan that would work but this is a local PSAP and a PRI is out of the question but was already thought of

Potentially you could assign your 911 phones to a hunt group with a broadcast ring and you could have the lines ring to a different set which forwards to the hunt group after two rings. That should give a CID display.

Even if they answer early, they should be able to press Feature 811 and get the CID info.
