Our phone provider has gone AWOL and I asked them this question and they said it couldnt' be done. I'm asking here in case they're lying.

BCM 4.0. If I have a CCR tree and want (press 1 to speak to) to forward to an external number without a real extension, how could I setup a virtual extension that is forwarded to a regular phone number or cell phone?

I figured this out I think. You can do an route to a number call in the CCR. Is there a way to do it in the BCM (ie setup a virtual extension that when people dial it goes to a cell ??)

Redirect will do it. In EM there is an option for forward all calls. Make the DN active and set the the forward. You can then disconnect the set but should the system lose power you will need to do that again. If you re using DIDs set the redirect on the target line

That's what I thought and had been told. It just seemed to me there should be a more straightforward way than hooking up a set then leaving it the DN active.

Go into line programming/target lines and use line redirect like ctciny said that is straight forward and no phone is required.Enter the dest. code and number.
