Hello,

We recently purchased a BCM 400. We had some minor set-up issues but now we seem to have come accross one that even our expert nortel vendor cannot figure out.

We recently installed a 2nd pri. After enabling it and turning it up, we're finding that that at about the 20th-23rd call, you get a busy signal. The carrier did 2 tests and verfied they're getting a PBX reject. Our nortel vendor (10 years experience) is insisting he programmed it correctly and from what I can tell, he's right. Keep in mind all 46 channels are being accessed but never more than 20-23 in a shot. Also, when incoming is busy, we can still place outgoing calls.

The only thing I can think of is that in our BCM Monitor under VOICE PORTS, it shows we have only 6 Voice CTI ports. Does that mean we do not actually have the 32 ports which are supposed to come with the BCM 400? Could this be causing the busy signal? If yes, how do I get 32?

We're currently running a cable TV commercial and need to utilize all 46 lines ASAP. Any help is greatly appreciate.d

Did you enable the 2nd PRI in the assigned Trunks. do you see all the trunks in the BCM Monitor when you make calls?

How many MODs do you have installed in the system and what BUS are they?

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

do you have enough resources? Are u using a 2/6 split or 3/5? How many sets...IP or digital? What applications? ...Call Ctr, etc?

Did the Telco turn up the D-channel on the second PRI? Has the PRI been assigned to what ever pool group you're using?

I'm not sure where you mean for me to confirm the 2nd pri is enabled. Is it in the Element Manager? In the EM, in RESOURCES in TELEPHONY RESOURCES, it shows the 2nd pri as enabled. It also shows all lines as provisioned. If I should be checking elsewhere, please let me know.

I do see all 46 trunks in the BCM Monitor and like I said, all channels from both pri's are being accessed.

As far as mods, it's showing 10 mods enabled (in telephony resources) out of a total of 15. The buses on the enabled mods are 1,2,3,5,5.0,5.1,6,6.0,7.0.

Dasheen,

We have about 16 digital phones (M series & T series). We're using Intelligent Contact Center for our call center but we're sharing our pri's with our coporate office. We're also using Call Pilot Manager and reporting. As far as the D-channel is concerned, I'm pretty sure our carrier would've checked during troubleshooting but I can specifically ask. Do you think that would cause the busy?

Both pri's are assigned to a pool group that everyone has access to. About a 2/6 or 3/5 split, I don't really know. How would I find that info?

You don't think our problem can lie with the fact that we only have 6 voice ports?

It sounds like its possible that you have 2 separate pri's that are not in the same trunk group from the provider. Calls go out on 1 pri and in on the other one. When the inbound one is full, its not rolling over to the second pri.
