I replaced a Base Function Tray on a BCM 400 3.7. Everything smooth as usual, however, when powered system back-up, only a red powerlight. No fans, msc activity, nothing. I put the old Base Tray back in and still nothing but the red power light.

You may have a bad card in your system. I have had a bad DSM32+ card cause this trouble before. Pull out your media bay modules and try to boot it up.

I agree, disconnect everything from your BCM to pinpoint the problem. Remember to use the original MSC card on the "new" BFT.

"Its just dial-tone. At the end of the day everyone usually gets to go home.

Some of the "New" BFT's being bandied around are refurbs with caps replaced.
