BCM 400 and USB Handsets

Hi,

I was curious about the BCM 400's compatibility with USB handsets (not headsets). Would something like the Nortel USB Phone 8501 (link below) work with our phone system?

Any recommendations or advisories towards which would be compatible with the 400?

Why the need for USB connectivity?

How about a t7208 phone.

There are a few employees that work across multiple companies here. They want to keep things as separate as possible and already have a DN w/ a physical set (1140e) on their desk.

The reason for USB is that my PoE switches are at about 80% capacity and if I would like to keep the remaining ports open.

Don't forget to change the headset setting from "wired" to "USB" in the IP phone configuration.

Dasheen, that's a possibility, but I think it is a user preference for physical phones.

Where can I find a list of phone compatible w/ the BCM400?
