I have a BCM 4.0 with a point to point t1 and IP phones at the remote end. I set this up and its been running for over a couple of years. There IT guy changed some of the IP's today and inturn lost the IP phones. I have an alarm about Net link manager recovery to back up, followed by an alarm net link manager back up started. I will be heading out on sight tommorow and my question is:
The next hop router setting should it be the router(gateway) next to the BCM? Or the router at the remote sight?

the next hop router is the router physically closest to the BCM. so probably he changed the IP at this router and which is why these phones longer register to the BCM

The next hop router is a router on the same sub-net as the BCM that has a route to reach other sub-nets. It may not be the closest phycically but absoutely must have an interface on the same sub-network. It is analogous to default gateway, At the remote site a default gateway must be programmed into the IP phone (either manually or by DHCP) that is logically on that network and must contain a route back to the BCM.
