BCM 400 4.0. All phones digital T7316E. 2 people complain that say they're not receiving voicemails untill a few days after the message is left. Example set 2330 checks voicemail on monday night no message, checks tuesday no message, checks Wednesday and there are messages that were left on Monday. This has been an ongiong issue, I have determined the messages are not being forwarded by someone else, they're not just looking at the msg waiting indicator, their logging into the mailbox and it says 0 new msg. Any ideas? The customer states that this problem was present prior to upgrading the system to a BCM from an MICS. I have changed ports, pairs, phones. Very strange... And of course it dosn't happen all the time.

No way it's going to migrate from an MICS to a BCM. Have you seen it happen, because my guess is the BCM is getting scapegoated.

Also make sure that the BCM has the current patches on it.

I have not seen it happen. Im going out next week to patch up, but just wanted to throw this one out there. Dewey don't think that hasn't crossed my mind....

Start w/ updating the the system w/ the latest patches. If the problem continues u can start looking at h/w.

Also make sure that the you have sufficient message space.

Thanks guys. I will start with the patches tommorow afternoon.

DigitalD where can I veiw system message space? If memory serves me the system has 4 mspecs.

If you want to see how much storage space you have left, go into voicemail and under reports select Message Usage. It will tell you, in minutes, how much is available.

I believe Dasheen is correct too. External callers can still leave a message in a users mailbox even if the mailbox is full. It cannot be accessed though until one of the old messages is deleted. Because the amount of space (time) you have is in minutes rather than number of messages, you will have to look at the reports to see if that's whats happening. Check your class of service to see how much message time the mailboxes have assigned to them. I'm sure you'll find thats where the issue lies.

Update... I Was on sight today and patched to date. I checked message space and the system had 12,057 minutes, so thats roughly 200 hours, with 50-60 subscriber mailboxes I don't think thats the problem. I hope the patches do the trick.
