I'm upgrading a 3.7 to 4.0 and installing a new 4.0 harddrive. Should I do the upgrade 1st or install the harddrive? It seems like a no-brainer, upgrade first, but just wanted to get everone's take on it. Thanks.

Upgrade first so everything is upgraded, not just the HD.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Thanks Ace
I completed the upgrade went to install the new hard drive on a raid system. The new hd is 80G old is only 20G. Docs say the hd's must be same size. Oh well....

ou need to make the old 20Gb the Primary and the New 80 Gb the secondary and it should make the new drive the same. Try it as you have nothing to lose.

If I do that do you think I'll be able to use the 80G to potential down the road?

Only if Nortel makes an upgrade that can use it.

The 2 hard drives need to be the same size. I tried it before with a 40gigs and a 80gigs without any success.Under raid status it was saying that the secondary drive was the wrong size.

Thanks gberger, all input is appreciated. I don't have any reason to replace it at this time.
