I have a BCM400 that is locked up. Power outage during patch update.

System is down and I can't get in with Element Manager. I have a recent backup and want to default the system and re-install from that backup.

How can I default the system?

Opps.

Try and access via serial port with null modem cable on the front off BFT.

You may be lucky and get in

Try and reboot using the PIN HOLE reset on the front of BFT beside LEDS.

The hard drive may now be corupt.

Yeah, already tried the serial port, no good.

I've pulled the hard drive and installed a DSM32 to temporarily replace the IP phones.

However, I can't get into programming. After entering user and pass, display says "Please Wait" for about a minute and then returns to time and date.

I need to make lines ring on digital sets.

Is there a back door to get into system programming through the phone?

You will need to re-image the drive with the BIT tool then restore. Or you need to get a fresh 4.0 drive and restore.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks you your response.

High ho,
High ho,
It's off to Nortel I go, $$$$$$$$$$$$
