BCM 400 4.0 down

I have a 400 4.0 down. All of the digital sets are just flashing. I can access the BCM home page but can't get through to element manager or call pilot manager.

I replaced the power supply, the hard disk and the dsm 32 and still the same problem. The caps on the BFT are fine, not green and not swollen.

What could be the problem. I'm told the MSC is bad? How hard is it to replace that?

Are you able to log in to BCM Monitor? That will help show system vitals and other info.

I cannot log into BCM monitor

This is what I get from the serial port:

a bunch of stuff but ends with...

VFS: Cannot open root device "hda3" or 03:03
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:03

On Friday I was able to access the main BCM web site but now it seems the hdd is corrupted?

Phones still flashing away, no telephony.

I have spare MSC.
