Hello! I am trying to get a Konftel 300IP to work with my Nortel BCM 400 version 4. The phone gets an IP address in the correct range, sees the default gateway, but cannot register the phone. The phone wants me to provide a user name, authentication name(it says this should be the same as the user name), a registrar(it says this is the name or address of the BCM) and a password. I believe I have the correct password, but am not sure about the user info.

If anyone has tried this and has any tips I would be grateful of any advice or guidance.

Kris

The Konftel 300IP uses SIP signaling. The BCM 400 does not understand SIP. The two will not work together.

Nortel phones use UNISTIM firmware which is Nortel proprietary so your SIP phone won't work.......HOWEVER.......I believe you can get SIP firmware for the 1100 series Nortel phones and replace the UNISTIM. My understanding is that you lose a great deal of the functionality, but if that's what you want, you can pay full price for a basic SIP phone. Probably why not too many people do it.

Never tried it personally but I think you can get the firmware from Nortels website if you have the appropriate credentials.

Don't think you can get UNISTIM firmware to load onto your set though. If you do, it would be interesting to see how it works.

Good Luck.
