If I change a system from 3 digit to 4 .
Is 2 the default it's going to put in front of my intercomm number? what about my mailboxs?

I'm cleaning up a system thats in use, making the DID's match my intercom and going to a 4 digit dial plan.

Just wondering if there is a way to tell the system to stick a 6 infront of my intercomms instead of a 2 so I don't have to change every intercomm.

Thanks

If the system was started up with the 6 as the starting digit it will put a 6 in front but if you did DN changes than a 2 will be inserted.
And sorry you will need to reinstall the VM to go to 4 digits. It does not add the 4th.

You can change the DNs to 4 digits from 3. The system will add digit 2 to every DN. Then you can change the DN numbers from 2221 to 6221 for example, but you would have to reprogram all the sets. You might be able to use copy and paste for each set, but since you have to redo the voice mail i would default the system and reprogram from scratch, It will make things easier in the long run with less problems.

It will assign whatever lowest digit that is free, if 3 is the lowest available it will become 3xxx.
A good trick was given by another member that consist of assigning destination digit in the dialing plan if you want to go to a specific starting dn. ex:assign 2-3-4 as destination digits and the bcm will then assign 5 as the starting dn, like 5xxx.

nice !!!! I'll try that thanks
