I have a bcm 400 3.7 and another location with MICS. My plan is to replace the MICS with another BCM 400. My question is what is needed to link the two systems together so they can intercom each other. Currently 3 digit extensions and I plan to change to 4 digit. We are linked together with a point to point t1 for data that I would like to utillize. Any help would be great.

You can use private networking using CDP and the MCDN key codes to set up private networking between the systems.

There have been several Threads covering this.

I'm not an expert on the subject, but I recall when our BCM was installed the installers talked about how they linked two BCMs together on a local network to function as one unit with a common set of DNs.

With your T1, the two locations are essentially on the same network. You could link the two together in that way - I believe you still need to pay for IP trunk licenses as well as MCDN (which allows for the units to intercom each other and share line pools). You need one IP trunk license on each side for each simultaneous conversation. For example, if you want 3 people on one side to be able to talk to 3 people on the other side at the same time, you need 6 IP trunks total (3 on each side) plus MCDN on each side.

Hope that helps.
