hello,

when a phone is on DND is there anyway to disable the beep before the voicemail picks up? I see the phone ringing and its silent but as soon as it goes into voicemail there is a loud and rather annoying beep.

disable redirect ring (ive not tried this, but it might work for your requirement)

Just disabled redirect and still get the beep! I would think a true dnd would silence the set completly. Any other sugestions welcome.

All phones are fowarded to vm after 4 rings and I think on busy as well. When in a meeting press f 85 and phone wont ring but will make a loud beep after 4 ring and kicks to vm.

Now that I think of it you may have answered my question, dnd on busy MAY not be set to yes. I will confirm in the AM.

well unfotunatly dnd on busy was enabled. I played with every setting I can think of! Anyone else been sucessful in disabling the beep when a call goes to voicemail???

The beep may be a system default to let you know the phone is in DND mode when using F85. If you put a DND button on the phone you will ba able to see that the phone is in DND and you wont get the Beep.

I do have dnd buttons.. I get the beep after the phone rings 4 times an fwds to voicemail!

If your in DND, you shouldn't get any ring's before it goes to Vmail. Are you sure??? I have never seen a phone that was in DND ring.

BCM 3.6 fully patched, our system does the same thing. Its Call Pilot thats making it ding. When DND is set you get a a single "ding" and CLID display when Call Pilot picks ups the call.

yes nsatin thats what i was trying to explain. Any way to disable this??

I don't think so, but I've never looked into it. My users consider this a "good feature".

fyi

I posted this in the norstar forum and phoneguy427 got the fix.

Log into mailbox press admin, press call fwd, press next chang display caller id to no!

Thanks

EW
