I have installed (2) BCM 400's with 3.7.....We are having a problem with these (2)......On (3) different occasions both sites have had (2) of their analog trunks lock up......The user will call me because they notice a couple of lines in use with no one on them.....When I log into the BCM monitor it shows the lines in question in use with a "?" in the user column.....Sometimes they have been in use for days.....The only way to clear them out is to power off the system.....Has anyone else had this problem?

I don't see any bulletins on this issue for the BCM 200/400. I do know of issues with the BCM50 and locking up analog trunks (there is a Nortel acknowledgement and bulletin on that). The BCM50 patch to correct this will be coming out soon.

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder about all of these patches and updates. In the old days with MICS and CICS ( and even stepping back to the 8X24 & 3X8), patches were unheard of. You installed the KSU and didn't have to return on a monthly basis to install a patch to fix a problem that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

There are only 2 seasons in Canada, Golf and Snowmobile season.

If you have remote access to the system, you could probably just disable/enable the bus that the analog trunks are on, saving a trip to the site, or a cold start of the system.

Wonder if it's an intermittent disconnect supervision issue or something to that effect.

Skippy440 - I agree. Seems a bit extravagant at times. I miss the days of hanging a Norstar on the wall, never to hear from the people again until a can of Coke got spilled on a phone or a lightning bolt took out a trunk port.

But then again, most of these patches address certain issues that may not applicable to all systems. I don't install Call Center patches on systems that don't use call center, etc. I have a few customers out there running release 2.5 (and a couple 2.0X systems) that haven't been touched since install, and are running fine. Guess it goes both ways....

biv343- How true!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please bring back those days.

I too have had issues w/ the GATM8 on a recent BCM 3.7 install & when I replaced a defective GATM8 on a BCM 3.6. I could only get dt on half the card if I play w/ the country dip switches. In pgm under bus status it shows mod 1 as legacy & unequipped. If I don't touch the country settings, I get ndt and pgm shows the bus as unequipped.

Maybe it's a firmware issue on the latest rls of GATM8s???

I have this problem alot. I have been disconnecting and reconnecting the jumpers at the D-mark.

This has reset the trunk lines.

Any problem with that?
