What is the max amount of digital extensions I can have on a BCM 400 if I have 32 Copper Trunks on it?
My guess is 128 Digital Extensions.
Is there any way to increase this?

Thanks,
Chris

32 copper trunks = 4 GATM8's = 2 bus resources (1/2 each)
That leaves 4 bus resources and 6 MBM slots (assuming an expansion chassis)

So, 4*32 = 128 TDM sets.

You could go with a 400 series expansion gateway and place all of your copper trunks in that chassis. Then you would have the FULL 3.7 400's resources to use for sets. Kind of high set to trunk ratio though isn't it?

Hi MagnaRGP,
I have been hearing about the expansion gateway, but oddly enough, here in Canada there seems to not be alot of knowlegde on the limitations of the expansion gateway. My understanding is that is networks to the main 400 via 32 IP Trunks. Not quite sure what features are supported between both systems from extension to extension or extension to trunks.
thanks,
Chris

If it is a BCM 400, you only have 4 Mod slots available. You would an Expansion Cab thhat connects with a special data cable that comes with the Exp Cab. you get 6 more slots in the Exp cab.
