Customer is locked out of system. They bought this system and is working but they cannot login. Is there a back door/default password i can use or do i have to power down the system and hope for the best?

You can call Nortel($$$) or do a level 2 reset.Maybe better to call a Nortel partner when you do level 2 reset.

no level 2 reset on a 400 that I'm aware of. Only on the 50 and 450.

As it's been brought by another customer, the best option is to power the computer up and see if you are able to get a digital phone working. You can then use the Telset access which may be unchanged as e.g. Feature ** SYSTEM and a default password of CONFIG (All entered as numbers on the keypad!)

You might then be able to navigate through the menus to find the IP address.

As it's a 3.6 system, you should be able to connect to the serial port 9 way RS232 via removal of one of the front covers for the 400 system.

Using standard baud 9600 settings you could then try and see if it's possible to login using the old default logins for the NT4 versions which were ..

There are a number of default login and passwords for the different software versions. Here are a few Nortel default ones listed below.

BCM 3.0 system to upgraded 3.5 login user ID = supervisor password = Visor

New BCM 3.5, 3.6 & 3.7 systems login user ID = supervisor password = PlsChgMe!
Also login user ID = ee_admin password = PlsChgMe!

BCM 200 / 400 & 1000 systems for Release 4 & BCM 50 Release 1 onwards

login user ID = nnadmin password = PlsChgMe!

Please be aware that the login ID and passwords are CaSe sensitive!.

I can't leave my email address here, but I've done a guide with screen shots on logging into the older systems. Perhaps you can find a way of contacting me?.

All the best

That's correct, but these are the Nortel default passwords that can be changed. Also I haven't given any information on how to recover or view them on this thread. Although (as far as I know?) it isn't possible for the BCM range unlike the CS1000 / Meridian 1 range prior to release 4.5 etc.

This situation is very common and the older logins aren't always remembered.
