I have a BCM 400 wich i believed to be of 3.6 rls according to the header on the BRU log. upon removal of the old hard drive i discovered a sticker on it that reflected 3.6.

I ordered and installed a 3.6 replacement hard drive,,,the new drive had a sticker on it that said 3.6.

When the system boots up my unified manager and all other references show that the software release is 3.7

Everything functions but it does not allow me to install any patches,,,,3.6 or 3.7.

So i was unable to restore it from a 3.6 backup no big deal i just reprogrammed vm and ipoo telephony manually.

Did i do anything wrong.

The old HD sticker may have said 3.6 but it could've had a s/w upgrade to 3.7. What did the Nortel KRS say?

When i retrieved the Key Codes there was none for a 3.7 upgrade.

I've found that 3.6 generated keycodes will work on a 3.7 hard disk, but you would have to re configure the system from scratch as a backup wouldn't work.

It's the same for BCM 50 version 1 to version 2 software.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Any reason why it wouls not let me install 3.7 patches?
