I am upgrading a BCM from 3.6 to 4.0. I have run the pre-check utility and received the following error.

"FAIL: C: partition on BCM200/400 must be 2,623,863,808 bytes

FAIL: D: partition on BCM200/400 must be 9,911,427,072 bytes

FAIL: E: partition must be 2,105,638,912 bytes

FAIL: F: partition must be 2,105,638,912 bytes

FAIL: G: partition must be 2,105,638,912 bytes

FAIL: MAINTOS partition on BCM200/400 must be 1,052,835,328 bytes"

Is there a way to repartition the drive with out loosing my data? Can i run the bit tool and 3.6 image and they re-apply the customer backup. Once this is completed then proceed with the upgrade to 4.0?

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,

the only time I have seen this error was on a hard drive that was imaged with something other that the Nortel BIT image.
ain and it passed.
My solution was to get a properly imaged hdd via the BIT, restore the telephone/voicemail from a backup, then ran the upgrade pre-check tool ag

NCSS, NCDS, NCTS

I have gotten this twice on 2 BCM's and both were the original HD's and had never been reimaged. I had to reimage them but I used Ghost. I had backup images of all my BCM's and just used one from a BCM that the HD part's where OK.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

i got the same error due to a drive that was image with other means other then the BIT tool. I had to replace the drive and then perform the upgrade. If you are afraid of losing your programming, backup, then restore.
