New install 4.0 BCM. Call Center. Working fine for two days. Now cannot access any Vmail feature 9 option. No F981, 980, 904, 985 they all say "try again later" Sounds like a resource is locked up but cannot seem to unlock or clear it up. I do have the MAX channels for Call Center.

Bad BFT, only till 12/31/06 for free replacement from Nortel.

Bad BFT on a Brand New BCM 400 with 4.0 software?

It's only brand new if it was made in the last month or 2 of this year. I just bought a brand New never used still in the orignal sealed box and it's a 2.5 FP1 and I put in a new 3.6 hard drive. It could be old stock that's been upgraded to 4.0.

Like I said, it is a New 4.0 BCM 400. It was Purchased and maunfactured in December 06. It is new, I work for a Elite Partner, I do not deal with gray Market junk. I am very aware of the bad BFT issue but that would not be the case with a new 4.0 BCM. Thanks for the input anyway.

Had a problem similar before, i fixed it by replacing
the pec III cards.
Maybe you could give it a try?

If the BFT has green capacitors you have old equipment.

Verify the Part number anyway... new stock or not.

I just installed 2 "new" ERS 5510's. They had software on them that was new in July 05 (and of course without a data product service contract number, I couldn't obtain the latest release that I required in order to install the Advanced Routing License).

New is not necessarily new.

I have had a similar problem and Nortel had me replace the PEC cards and problem solved.

SO I guess not a lot of you have put in new 4.0 BCM's yet.

I have to date 5 other techs that have called me with the exact same problem that I had.

These are in fact new 4.0 Machines and I have verified that each and everyone that has the same problem is a new 4.0 machine. I was able to get the voicemail back up and working.

All BRAND NEW Machines, all 4.0

I have since uncovered several probloems with the Call Pilot and Contact Center on 4.0 that need fixes...

Way to go Nortel, we are waiting on 4.0 patches.

bcmpimp, the 4.0 machine that I was referring to in my reply was a brand spanking new BCM400 4.0. Have you replaced the PEC cards? That was my problem and the customer was getting "Try again later".

Yes I did but that did not solve the problem.

I was going to do that but NO voicemail features are accessable.

The problem believe it or not is with the KIM modules.

When you have an external autodial programmed on the right side of a KIM or CAP you get this problem. If you do a Feature *0 the external auto dial displays as a strage string of numbers

If you move the External autodials off the right side of the KIM or CAP the system works fine.

This happens on all KIM or CAP on all phones on right side only.

This has corrected the problem on all 5 BCM 400 4.0 in question.

I just had the same issue with a new out of the box 4.0.
called Nortel they VPNed in and had to uninstall all keykodes then reinstall problem was fixed? 1 day later same issue still havnt fixed it.

Glad to see you fixed your problem. When you say it doesnt
work with external speedial programmed on the right side of
a kim or cap does it mean the 2 right columns of a cap or only the far right one?(since the cap has 4 rows instead of
2 as for the kim.)

Far right row on either CAP or KIM

Go figure button programming can lock up a voicemail...
On the 4.0 that had the CAP's it also locked up the T1

That took a lot of troubleshooting to locate that but I was able to remove it and even duplicate it when I programmed it back. What a trip~

You get another star. Thanks for the resolution.
