BCM 4.0 and ftp backup

I have several 4.0 and BCM50 systems that are backing up to an ftp site. I have a few that for some reason will not do it. The IT guys sware that they are not blocking ftp. I have verified that on a 4.0 by putting a file in a folder on the ftp site while connected to their VPN. The info that the BCM requires is correct. The folders in the ftp site have all the read, write and execute boxes checked. Any thoughts?

BCM doesn't play nicely with all ftp servers. it never has....bulletproof works.
