Telephony svcs are up but voicemail is down. Tech replaced BFT & Hard drive and no change. Tech said before changing things out a series of tones could be heard 3 then 1 then 2. I have only heard tones coming from the BCM when doing a s/w upgrade.

What could be the problem?
 
Are the Key codes installed?

Under services make sure Vmail is enabled.
 
yes. This is an existing BCM that was working normal until the last couple of days. Apparently another tech replaced the HD & BFT & possibly the MSC last year when flaky things started happening. Since then all was ok until recently.

I myself have not been to site. I'm going by info given to me by the tech that went out yesterday.
 
Ok, what do you mean by the Vmail is down?

Can you login to programming and add or change box's?

 
Down meaning completely down. Tech can't launch unified mgr. MBMs are up. Telephony svcs are up. No HD LED. 6 middle LEDs flashing like they do when the BFT needs replacing. Tones heard on startup. Tech is going to try swapping the MSC.
 
MSC won't keep the HD from running, have you tried a Cold reboot?
 
Even though you allready replaced them, I would try another MSC and BFT. I personally have had more than one or two go bad.

Was th HD replaced with a known clean good one or did someone just yank one out of another BCM.
 
Tech will try replacing the MSC tomorrow evening.

Yes the HD was new right out of the box. BFT w/ bad caps was replaced last year w/ a good one. Tried replacing this week w/ a good one. Last thing to try is the MSC.

Will let you know what I found out from the tech next week.
 
Did the installer of the new HD by chance bother to run a universal profile after installing the drive?
 
Yes he tried after I told him but couldn't get into BCM. Just got a call from the tech saying he tried another BFT which stopped the beeping on startup & stopped the flahing centre LEDs but didn't fix the HD issue. He's since replaced the HD and is now doing a restore.

Sounds like there were two hardware failures. The customer will be getting quite the bill (time & materials).
