The software is available to download from the Nortel website. You can download the Upgrade in 2 discs but you will still require keycode to finish the upgrade.
at $275 per site to upgrade to 3.7, I don't think we'll be doing an upgrade to any site unless were having a problem ant the upgrade is the only thing that will fix it or a feature that we neeed.
Unless something drastic changed with 3.7, you can have your vendor order the software for you - upgrades have been free through version 3.6. You'll get the CD's and the authorization code with the upgrade package. For the upgrades I've done for customers, we only charge for labor hours to install the upgrade.
Upgrading to 3.7 requires that your system be running version 3.5 or 3.6. I haven't really seen any compelling reason to upgrade to 3.7, unless the i2007 or new digital mobility solution is in your future.
I'd probably just order the upgrade kit before I'd download a gig of data.
I ordered my 3.6 upgrade from a vendor they charge $5 lol guess they needed to make something for their time to send it to me, always get my keycodes the same day and we're off and running, 3 hours later and I have 3.6 on my BCM's. The 3.7 upgrade was quoted to me for about $600 from several sources, so it seems there is a huge fluctionation in price.
I haven't checked the latest price list, but I can check tomorrow and see what the real scoop is.
Marshall - just curious as to why you need 3.7 to network with Succession 4.0. I've got quite a few BCM's (and SRGs) out in CS1000 4.0 land that are working fine. Just curious as to what you're experiencing that may warrant the upgrade.
