It always failed to submit data of telephony to the MSC... anything i can do? Any hints or tips? or any solution how to convert a 3.7 database to 4.0 ?

no answer ;O)... call me back ...hahaha

Power down, back out the MBMs, power up, restore. Theres a core patch that supposedly fixes this issue as well.

Nope sorry... i didnt got the restore for the telephony to work and did enter the whole stuff manualy....

I have heard u have to have the same core patch version b4 and after and im not sure if that was the matter....

I also had various issues about this bcm 1000 on this upgrade....
I did apply already all patches that i found on Nortel Support for BCM 4.0

- Restore didnt work after trying to go back to 3.7
telephony always failed

- Lan CTE with domain/user did not work... so i switched to ip

- CallCenter Reporting dont work as u can see in a other thread...

- u cant enter a loop dn for BRI/ST

and and and ;O)

I am not sure about that.

I had a similar experience with an upgrade on a BCM 400 and 1000. I had to replace the motherboard on both. But on the BCM 1000 I had to add the additional RAM as stated in the upgrade procedure and replace the MSPEC cards. I also had to replace the hard drive after trying to upgrade and it failed. I then tried a new hard drive restore and all I got was a corrupt hard disk.

In the end I had to replace on the BCM 1000 the hard drive, add RAM , replace motherboard and replace MSPEC cards. It was nearly a new BCM and a keycode regeneration. I also lost all mailbox programing and had to reprogram the box for various things.

I have decided on only upgrading BCM 1000 systems if it is completey neccessary and always check the box with the Nortel upgrade tool.

Lesson learned

Marshall
