Hey guys,

I have a customer that has a BCM 400 3.7 that is fully loaded as far as Busses go. My question is, how many IP softphones can I have on the system before I have to change to a 3/5 split and when do I have to add more memory and/ or PEC cards? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

each buss holds 32devices, and IP only uses 1 and 8 or 7 if a 3/5 split..if you IP devices are greater than digital devices, most likesly you need a 3/5 split..I did it and it allows more IP phones...but you must remove all users from bus 7..

Sorry guys, I should have let you know that if it came down to it, I would have to get rid of bus 7 and go with the 3 5 split. I just wanted to know if there was a maximum # of ip sets that you can have before making the jump. Also, if I did have to do the split, do I need more RAM and PEC cards?

Thanks,
Dan

Yes, there is a maximum of IP sets you can have at 2/6.

Someone will know exactly, I say 45.

If you have 2/6 split the answer is 47

If you have 3/5 Split the answer is 79
