Trying to upgrade a 3.6 system to 4.0 the pre check give the following error

FAIL: MSC check. KSU version (MSC Core) is [30CfF03] which is NOT supported

I know this error is cause because the MSC core does not match the installed hard drive but when I try to a core upload via putty i get the following error msg

Starting MSC Core Upload of E1...
1 file(s) copied.
Waiting for all services to be up and running...
Service successfully removed
All services are up and running.
Data initialized
Dat load C:\TEMP\ksuimage.dat
Input validated
Attempting to start Voice MSC Service
Voice MSC Service started - 0
Not already in upload mode
FastUpld.exe: Error(09) Error establishing Dchannel with MSC

The system will continuously repeat this until i exit the putty session....

I also get the same error if i try i platform initialization any ideas i suspect a faulty MSC....

If its not broke tweak it..

If you are upgrading a BCM200 you need to move the IDE cable to the other IDE port when upgrading from 3.6 to 4.0. Wierd, but that's Nortel.

Got this fixed today Nortel advised me to run the MSC fru replacement procedure but reinstall the same MSC and its working fine and upgraded to 4.0..

If its not broke tweak it..
