I have not performed a BCM400 3.6 backup in a while. I remember having to share a folder, map to the location. I had much difficulty getting the backup to get set up right, unlike 4.0 and higher. I plan on connecting my laptop to one of the LAN's and backing up to the laptops my documents to a folder named "3.6 backup".
Thanks,

The BRU in the 3.6 for remote backup is a pain...the folder you create has to be shared. After you share it, then go into the sharing properties of the folder and make sure you have read/write both enabled...that part gave me fits until I figured it out.

In the BRU volume, it gives you the DOS-like steps it wants to backup to a remote folder...you may have to turn off firewalls also. I performed my first upgrade in two years from a 3.6 to 4.0 three weeks ago so it's still pretty fresh

If you are using windows XP the sharing options need to be tweeked a bit in order to share the folder for the BRU to be able to see the share. As well as sharing you have to into security, advanced, effective permissions, select, advanced,& find now. Highlight the administrator user account for the computer & you should be okay.
