BCM 3.6 Adding a WAN card to an installed system

The installation manual says you do a platform initialization so that the system recognizes the WAN card, does this wipe out the telephony and the voice mail? or does that not happen until I do the startup to change to the 3/5 split
 
no. the programming will not be lost.
already did this with my lab BCM200

i had the same fears :)
 
Running the universal profile is all that's needed to make it see the WAN card. Just don't accidentally select MSC core upload, or you'll be reprogramming some phones and trunks.
