I have a BCM 3.5 with PRI and DID's. The problem that we're having is that one extention (and only the one), while the user is on the DID, any other calls that come through to the set will not ring it.

The fwd on busy is not set and the caller will hear 4 rings and then go into the mailbox, as the fwd no answer is set for, but the set will not ring. If the user is not on the set, the calls will ring it. If the user is on her DID on that set, the caller will hear 4 rings, but it will not ring the set.

The set is programmed for fwd no answer after 4 rings to v/mail; fwd on busy to none; target line to appear and ring with 1 appearance; 2 intercoms; 1 handsfree;DND on busy set to no.
If you program 2 appearances of the target line, the set still won't ring. All the other sets are setup in exactly the same manner and they have no problem with ringing. It's just the one extention.

Was there any issues with 3.5? Is there a patch or upgrade that Nortel released that dealt with this issue?

There are only 2 seasons in Canada, Golf and Snowmobile season.

Do a copy from a set that works OK. then change the target line back to what it was.

also make target line private to the prime set... logout then test...if ok then change back"or not if not needed as a public"

6 months until ski season starts...sadly i must resign myself to the warmer weather"this will include a normal 8-5 work day, 5 days a week"

I have tried the set copy but that did not resolve the issue. The target line is set as public as there are two extentions with answer DN's to her set. When we set the target line as private to her ext, again the problem still remained.

Go to the target line and make sure it is set - public and for Busy to prime. Make sure the prime set is the correct extension. Then test your calls.

The prime set for the target line is the extention that won't ring.

We have removed the answer DN for that extention off the other two sets
and it seems to have resolved the ringing issue. My question now is this.

My question now is this. If I put the answer DN's back on the two sets, it prevents the original set again. Why when an answer DN is put on another set does it prevent the original set from ringing?

At a guess I would say that that maybe it has something to do with intercom paths. If you give it three intercom keys and see if this resolves the problem.

TO Skippy440.

You forget the longest season of them all --- Construction. Try driving in the GTA from March to November and you'll see what I mean.

:)

Did you try changing the target line from appear & ring to ring only but have assign 2 appearances? I believe the appear & ring setting for the target line on the set is causing the 1 call restriction.
